Yesterday I spent the day with a very good friend of mine and her two gorgeous Staffies, both adopted from rescue. Please meet Fred (brindle snuggle monster) and Martha (darling little sweetheart).
Fred and Martha (and their Mum) took me for a lovely walk along the canal. Both dogs are excellent with other dogs and said hello to various dogs we met along the canal path. We met a collie who was running up and down the canal path, as though he/she were looking for someone. We were going to try to grab them next time they passed, but thankfully we then met them reunited with their owners.
At one point, Fred decided to have a little dip in the canaland I did wonder as we met a couple with their three Labs, and all had to pass on a narrow bit of the canal path, if I was going to end up having a dip too
I love this photo of Fred (below) as we sat waiting in the car while my friend popped into the house before we headed to a pub for lunch. Isn’t Fred completely gorgeous?
Little Martha and her smilie Staffie face – lovely!
As the weather was decent and we had the dogs with us, we sat outside for lunch. The dogs sat on their blanket and had some doggie treats while we ate
Yummy!
Watching Mum!
We really are not sure quite what Fred was doing in the photo belowHe went into this position and stayed there for some time. Not sure if he was inspecting under the table for the possibility of dropped food, or what, but he made us smile
The adorable little Martha, who looks like she is about to break into a Woooooo in this one, I think.
We went back to their house after lunch and Fred joined me on the sofa. He is very snuggly indeed and got very comfy with his head on my lap. So comfy that I didn’t have the heart to disturb him for a while when I needed to visit the bathroom. Having lost our beautiful Cassie last Summer, it was good to refill those brindle-cuddle-batteries a little. Thank you Fred.
Thanks to my friend and the lovely Fred and Martha for a wonderful day
