Nine months on …

Today is nine months since New Year’s Eve. Nine months since we brought Jasper home as an emergency foster for Oldies Club and failed at fostering as quickly as we thought we probably would:lol:

We have loved sharing our lives with Jasper since we adopted him. He is such a sweet boy and he truly seems at home here. It’s hard to believe that our gorgeous, happy boy wouldn’t have been here at all if it wasn’t for a compassionate vet who was reluctant to put him down – and Oldies Club for agreeing to take him.

According to Jasper, it’s very important to celebrate nine month gotcha days with a good steak, so Daddy bought and cooked a lovely (if you’re not vegetarian like me!) one for the dogs this evening. It’s been Jasper-approved.

Here are a few photos from this afternoon of our delightful treasure. Happy Nine Months Jasper Bear ♥

When Jasper came to us, we were told not to let him off lead as he didn’t respond to his name. Well, we have a brilliant bond with him and he is very good at coming back when called – and whenever he is walking ahead, he turns his head regularly, as demonstrated below, to check that we’re still there. Oh and if you’re wondering what that is in the photo above his tail, it’s either a fairy or a daddy-long-legs!

It’s very hard to take a photograph of Jasper running without ears and tongue all over the place, so this sums him up well:-)He does love to run.
Finally, our handsome chap doing a bit of posing for the camera. As someone once said to me when I was dog walking at the local rescue centre: you can’t go wrong with a black and tan. They’re absolutely right.

They were SO right :)))Happy 9monthaversary Jasper and if it’s not too personal, I’d just like to say that for a dog your size you have a VERY terrier-y bottom. And that’s a BIG compliment.

Lovely, lovely Jasper – congratulations! I recently brought into my rescue a senior Beagle/Basset who had not seen good days :(. She was slow, quiet, timid. WAS. Betty Boop now runs zoomies, barks off perceived threats and plays with other dogs and myself. Oldies are indeed goodies.

Glad you like his bottom, Jo ;-)

Roberta, Betty Boop sounds lovely, really glad she has come out of her shell.

Thanks Holly, it really sums him up when he’s running – ears and tongue end up all over the place
