~ My Sunshine ~

~ The first time ever I saw your face, I thought the sun rose in your eyes ~

It is six years ago since this beautiful girl came home to join the Poochie Freak family. She was a little rescue pup and utterly beautiful, as she still is.

She is my sunshine. I am incredibly blessed and grateful that she was chosen for us.

~ Where have all the flowers gone? ~

I am very sad to learn of the recent passing of Pete Seeger. My earliest memories of him, are of singing ‘Where Have All the Flowers Gone?’ at my youth group many, many years ago. It was one the of the songs in our little song book. I love this song. I loved that little song book.

Rest in peace, Mr Seeger.

I’ll always wonder why on earth my parents let me go to that youth club. It was run by wonderful, peace-loving hippie, CND type folk. I suspect my parents didn’t realise. I’m glad. I loved it there. We sang songs like this, we folk danced, we ate sweets, talked and went to camp for more of the same.

I took this photograph, while walking around a local town. The town is very beautiful, not that you’d realise from this photo. Until perhaps you notice the beautiful little flower, growing by the rusty old drain pipe. I couldn’t pass by without photographing it.

‘Stay open to the good and hopeful on offer in the world’ (thanks Clare).

~ Best wishes for 2014 ~

Just wanted to wish those visiting my blog, all the best for 2014. I haven’t been photographing dogs in rescue recently, for personal reasons, but hope it will be possible again at some point. The weather hasn’t been great, has it? It has been lovely to see a blue sky make an appearance. In the meantime, I’m finding comfort in dog snuggles, crystals, dark chocolate (not for the dogs of course) and the occasional log fire.
