True Love ~ Pet Photography

That sums up our relationship, our connection. She’s a special girl indeed.

She has a poorly tummy at the moment and so is receiving a little bit more love and care than normal even, if that’s actually possible. I adore her. Please send her tummy some soothing thoughts. Thank you.

UK pet owners with pet insurance, please read …

Some of you have probably already read of the companies withdrawing from the pet insurance market and leaving customers, including those with so-called life-time cover, without insurance. We sign up for these policies hoping that we will not need to claim, because we want our pets to remain healthy, but feeling safe in the knowledge that if our pets do fall ill, we have done all we can to ensure we can help them, especially with high vet bills.

I’m very sad and angry to read therefore that certain companies – Lloyds and Halifax are named to date – have notified pet insurance customers that they won’t be renewing their life-time pet insurance policies.

Pet insurance is different from other insurance. Once you sign up with one company and your pet suffers an illness, you are tied into that company if you wish to be able to claim. If you move to another company, you will find existing conditions are excluded. This is why it particularly irks me that these companies would cancel life-time cover policies. Responsible owners have sought what they thought were the most comprehensive policies and they have been badly let down. Owners are now worrying about how they are going to find the thousands of pounds each year, for veterinary bills, that have previously been covered by their insurance policy. Some may find themselves having to make a decision that no loving owner wishes to make, because they are unable to fund their pet’s care now. I do not have insurance with either of these companies, but I very much feel for those who do.

I have included the flyer from Hound Out Halifax & Lloyds – if you use facebook, please “like” the page, which can be found here and see what you can do to help. You can access the flyer etc. from there too. I really hope none of my blog visitors are affected by this, but if you are, please get in touch with the above mentioned group. If you are not a facebook user, there is also information here.

I really hope that these companies can be persuaded to at least maintain existing policies for the duration of their life-time cover or this may lead to much heartache:(

Love an Oldie Day!

Today, while people give cards and presents, Oldies Club has decided to celebrate Love An Oldie Day:-)

If you can spare a little donation towards the care of the charity’s foster dogs dogs, it would be much appreciated. Please click on the link above to donate.

When you donate, you can choose to add a message, which will appear below with the details of your donation, if you wish. Perhaps you would like to dedicate the donation to a loved one, canine or otherwise:-)

Oldies Club rescues and rehomes older dogs, aged 7 plus. The charity is run by volunteers and we use a network of wonderful foster homes around the UK, who care for the dogs while they receive any necessary veterinary care and the charity decides what sort of forever home would suit them best.

Oldies Club covers the cost of all veterinary treatment while the dogs are in foster care and makes sure Oldies Club dogs have all they need. I have been involved with Oldies Club since pretty much the start of things and it has been amazing to see things grow from initially helping one dog to saving many lives each year and also promoting the adoption of oldies with other UK rescues. I have been fortunate to meet quite a few of the lovely dogs adopted from Oldies Club and it is wonderful to see them with their new families, given the second chance at life that they very much deserve.

My darling oldie Jasper and me, just days after he arrived with us on foster (and stayed for ever). Truly a very special soul.

Much missed and never forgotten, it seemed the perfect photograph to represent the love we celebrate with our oldies.

Oops ~ Pet Photography

There she was, sat innocently next to her Sister on the sofa last night, and the blanket just fell into her mouth.

Have a happy, warm and snuggly weekend everyone.

Sweet Titch ~ Pet Photography UK

A very quick blog post from me, to introduce you all to the lovely Titch. She is a five year old Staffie x Labrador who I photographed last year.  Isn’t she pretty? It has been a while since I met her, but I remember her as a very sweet and friendly girl.
