New Toy Day at Poochie Freak Pet Photography

Yesterday was New Toy Day at Poochie Freak. My oldest boy, Max (AKA Mr Moo), asked me to bid on a toy in the Oldies Club auction for him and we were the winning bidders:)The toy arrived yesterday from Happy Staffy Shop and we set off for the woods:)

This is Mr Moo’s *MINE* face – does your dog have a mine face too?

It’s not often that I appear in front of the camera, but Mr Moo and I posed for a photo together and I rather like this one, so thought I’d share it.

I confess, I did have the toy in my mouth too:lol:

We made a little video clip of the walk too – just click and enjoy:)

A little gift

I have been taking part in the Pedigree Adoption Drive 2011 (PAD2011) by blogging about it here, hosting a virtual kennel to help raise funds* and encouraging others to take Ripley for a virtual walk.

Today I received a little gift in the post – a PAD2011 ID tag – for supporting the adoption drive, which has raised close to £100k for rescues:)

I was asked to share a photo of me + dog, with the tag, but since the dog is far more photogenic, she’s modelling alone … and doesn’t she look beautiful?

*Please look to the right and take Ripley for a virtual walk to unlock a donation to rescue, if you haven’t already :)) and by encouraging others to take part.

Wonderful Things & the World’s Smallest Potato

We are holding an online auction to raise funds for Oldies Club, a fantastic charity I’m involved with, here in the UK, which rescues and rehomes older dogs aged 7+. We adopted our darling Jasper from Oldies Club and I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few of the older dogs the charity has taken in and rehomed. The charity is run by a group of volunteers and our vet bills are rather high, so we are very grateful to everyone who has donated items to auction and is bidding on the wonderful things donated.

We have Items for You (human!), Items for Your Pet and Services, Days Out and Holidays (including some Discover Dogs tickets and a couple of fab midweek/weekend breaks!). Along with the items I’ve shown you below, we have a digital camera, various collars, harnesses, headcollars and leads, some dog beds (including Zippy Beds, which my dogs use and love), joint supplements, wellies, socks and hats and a guitar tuition DVD. The lovely author and dog lover, Lucy Dillon, has very kindly donated a signed copy of her forthcoming new book. Please pop along to facebook, take a look and have a bid!

I am auctioning a set of four of my A5 (when folded) photographic greeting cards. The set contains one card featuring each of the designs shown below (ie three Labrador cards and one with an amazing cream tea, one of my favourite non-dog images!). Each card comes with an envelope and can be used for a birthday, other occasion, or notecard – or just keep it for yourself because you like the photo:)

We have these stunning collars, very kindly donated by Melrose & Mutt, which are beautiful AND robust. They are designed to last and the company assures me are suitable for dogs who like to roll in mud, swim etc.:)There are two collars available for auction and the winning bidders can choose their preferred size in one of the designs shown in the image. Aren’t they gorgeous?

Booja-Booja very kindly donated these amazing Banoffee Toffee chocolate truffles. I haven’t tried these yet, but I have eaten lots of different Booja-Booja truffles in the past and they are AMAZING. Booja-Booja truffles are suitable for vegans and totally delicious.

This stunning Bull Terrier painting belongs to me, but I have had it a number of years (since bidding for it in another rescue auction) and I should have framed it, but haven’t, so I decided that someone else should enjoy it and Oldies Club could benefit from it being re-auctioned. Thanks also to a friend who very kindly bought it back for me in a previous auction and kindly agreed to me reauctioning it again for Oldies Club.

We have these two fun toys for auction too, very kindly donated by the Happy Staffy Shop. They have been tested by Staffies and are deemed to be pretty darn tough!

One Green Bottle has very kindly donated four of these fab and fun re-usable water bottles. Do take a look at their site and read all about why theses bottles are so good. I have been using their bottles for a few years myself.

There’s also a harness and lead set, kindly donated by Mekuti (which has also donated a doggie jumper). My own dogs wear these harnesses and they are great. I leave them on the dogs while they are off-lead and they don’t restrict their movement at all, they can run around and play without problem, as you can see below:)

I am also auctioning (probably) the World’s Smallest Potato, which frankly you’d be a fool to miss out on! Home grown by my husband and me. It’s truly something to be marvelled at, don’t you think? Ideal, if you are having The Borrowers to dinner!

There are lots of other fantastic items too, so please visit the auction and have fun bidding, knowing all your money will go towards helping older dogs in rescue. Thank you – and please feel free to share the auction link on facebook, twitter etc.:)

It’s Day 4 of the Pedigree Adoption Drive virtual walk – have you taken Ripley out yet and unlocked a donation for rescue? Click on the virtual kennel video near the top right of this page, if you haven’t. You don’t have to register your details, so it’s very quick and easy to take part – and fun too! You can throw a ball for Ripley, whistle her and have her bark and chase.

I’ve just checked the Adoption Drive site and at the time of publishing this blog post, the total raised is almost £24,000! Fantastic. There’s a potential £100,000 available to be unlocked though, so please keep sharing the link and encouraging friends and family to take part. The dogs need your help!

Adoption Saves Lives. Please click on the Dogs Needing Homes tab to the left hand side and the links at the bottom of my blog, to see some of the dogs currently waiting to find their special someone(s).

Take Part in the World’s 1st Virtual Dog Walk!

Good morning lovely people! Could you spare a few minutes to take a dog for a virtual walk please?:-)

It’s Monday and it’s the start of the Pedigree Adoption Drive 2011! I have been asked to host a virtual kennel to help raise up to £100,000, which will be donated to animal rescue homes in the UK.

If you look at the end of this post, you’ll see a beautiful dog sat in a virtual kennel, waiting for a walk. That’s Ripley! Please click on the video and follow the instructions to take her for a walk around the internet. You will have the chance to walk her across four websites in total and by doing so, unlock a donation from Pedigree, which will be held by the PetPlan Charitable Trust and donated to animal rescue homes in the UK:)

According to the Pedigree Adoption Drive 2011, this is the world’s first virtual dog walk around the web. The campaign is about saving abandoned dogs from their Last Walk – a walk which sadly ends when they are put to sleep:(Please take a few minutes to take Ripley for a virtual walk.

Over 120,000 dogs were taken into shelters in the UK last year. Very sadly over 20 abandoned dogs are put down every day, here in the UK. That’s over 7,5000 dogs over a year – and that’s just the officially recorded figure:(

If you have visited my blog before, you will know how passionate I am about rescue. I am pleased to be donating my time to this in the hope that visitors to my blog will help me by clicking on my virtual kennel and walking Ripley. Please feel free to share the link to this post, in the hope that your friends will visit and walk Ripley too. The more the merrier!:)

You can click below this post to share via facebook and twitter and you can click on the link to email a link to this blog post, to a friend. Please take part
