I’m Angela, Mum to my beautiful rescue dog-kids. I'm an animal lover, vegan, photographer, Reiki practitioner and lover of crystals, coffee and chocolate, living in Wiltshire, UK. I’m about three quarters human, quarter dog, or at least that’s how it feels sometimes!
I have loved dogs since I was a small child and have lived with dogs for 30+ years. I've shared my life with various breeds and crossbreeds and adored them all. A number of wonderful dogs have come into my life from rescue over the past 16 years and I am very involved with dog rescue.
My passion for photography grew from my obsession with dogs; purchasing my first digital camera many years ago, in order to record precious memories of my own dogs.
If you would like to contact me about pet photography, dog rescue or Reiki for animals, please complete and submit the form on the Contact Me page.
Please take a look through this blog and visit my Galleries to see examples of my pet photography.
You will discover my passion for animals and animal welfare is evident throughout my blog. As far as chocolate goes, it's always vegan-friendly and the darker the better. Raw chocolate and Booja-Booja truffles rule. Just keep it away from your dogs :-)
I have very sadly had to make the decision to take a break from photographing people's animal companions for a while, for personal reasons, but I look forward to meeting you one day :-)
30 August 2011: Fantastic update. Read earlier that Petula has been found and is now in a new home I wish her and her new family many years of happiness together.
Hello! I am posting this urgent appeal to help find Petula, a beautiful three year old female Lurcher who was taken from her kennel at Bath Cats and Dogs Home after hours on Friday 24 June 2011.
Please keep a look out for Petula, wherever in the UK you are. She is white with distinctive black markings on her head and is microchipped. The Home says she is extremely hand shy and very nervous, so if you do see her/have any information about her disappearance, please contact the Home as a matter of urgency on 01225 787 321 or 07760 713 104 (out of hours).
I have said hello to her a few times in her run, but haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her properly or photographing her, so I have “borrowed” the photos below from the Home’s website and from a volunteer who has set up a facebook group to Find Petula, to help spread the word.
Petula’s details are posted on the Home’s website, on the above facebook group and on the marvellous DogLost, a website which helps to reunite lost, stolen and found dogs with their loving owners. Petula’s DogLost page can be found here and you can share that link to facebook or twitter and/or print posters via a link on that page.
(Photos borrowed from BCDH/a volunteer)
Please spread the word and help get her back to the rescue safely, very soon. Thank you.
Well, this time I am introducing you to my new additionNot one of the wonderful rescue dogs I have photographed, but I’d like you to meet Bertha Blue … my Armadillo!
Bertha Blue was made by the amazingly talented Kirsten at Quernus Crafts. She makes all sorts of wonderful creatures, which are ready-to-buy via her shop (see link) and she also works on commissions too. It was my 40th Birthday recently <gulp> and when I saw Bertha Blue, I decided she would make a fantastic slightly-belated 40th Birthday present and my lovely husband treated me
Bertha Blue usually lives inside of course. The rain certainly wouldn’t be good for her, but during a brief moment of sunshine, I popped her outside for a little photoshoot. She’s quite the adventurer …
She’s a teeny little thing and very cute
Normal dog-blogging-service will resume shortlyIf you’re looking for a very cute, handmade and unusual present for someone, check out Kirsten’s site
When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace ~ Jimi Hendrix.
Dear Peggy became a shining example of the power of love. She sadly passed away last year, but I was honoured to have the chance to meet her at a charity dog show in 2009 and grabbed the opportunity of photographing her and her adoring Dad as she won 2nd place in the Best Rescue class.
If you are wondering what on earth the Jimi Hendrix quote has to do with anything, take a look at the Oldies Club rehoming pagefor Peggy, previously known as Mattie. The power of love indeed.
February 2013 ~ I am so, so pleased to be able to post that Silvia has been adopted. I wish you much happiness in your forever home, beautiful girl. It was a real pleasure to meet you
A little while back I was delighted to have the chance to meet and photograph a beautiful girl – Sweet Silvia, who is being rehomed by Bath Cats & Dogs Home. Silvia is a ten year old (or young, see the photos and video below!) female Staffie (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) who seeks a fabulous forever home.
Isn’t she adorable?
Silvia likes to have a snuffle, making a little piggy noise as Staffies often like to – it’s very cute! The rescue says she is a friendly girl (I agree – she is just lovely!) and that she’s independent. I found her very endearing and it was a real joy to see her happily rolling around in the paddock
I wasn’t sure if Silvia would want to play with the toys I keep for photographing the dogs at the Home, but she was very much up for having a play.
Seeing her rolling around with the tuggy and wondering what on earth the Space Lobber was, brought a big smile to my face – and hers
Silvia is very energetic for her age and the Home says she can be nervous and also a bit on the boistrous side. She is a real sweetie though.
Are you going to share the joke, Silvia?
Silvia is looking for a special home where she is the only pet and where any children are sensible and aged 12+ as she has probably not been around children before. She does try to chase small animals when out on walks.
The Space Lobber did very well – until we had an Oops moment …
We’re not quite sure what happened after that, are we Silvia? I suspect a norty dog snuck into the paddock and de-stuffed the toy, while we weren’t looking, but thankfully Silvia was on hand to help tidy things up. At least I think that’s what she was doing
I must at this point reassure readers that I am an ultra-responsible dog owner and the bits of the Space Lobber were promptly removed to ensure her safety. But I couldn’t let this photo opportunity pass by, could I?
Santa Silvia?
Silvia is strong on the lead and needs to wear a harness when being walked. The Home advises that when she sees other dogs she will stop still (as she did below), but is not good with them when they approach her, so a new owner would need to be responsible when out and about.
Silvia really is a sweet girl, with a beautiful face and Staffie smile. She deserves a truly wonderful forever home and I SO hope this happens for her very soon.

Please let them know that you saw Silvia at Poochie Freak Good luck beautiful! It was a real pleasure to spend a little time with you.
