ADOPTED ~ You Gotta Have Faith ~ The Pink Piglet ♥

Update 5 January 2011: Absolutely delighted to tell you that the beautiful Faith has been adopted:)

Faith is such a sweet girl. I’m so glad I was able to meet and photograph her. Faith, I hope you have a long and very happy life with your new family ♥ Bath Cats & Dogs Home have done a wonderful job of taking care of you and finding you a lovely home:)

***************

During this week’s visit to Bath Cats and Dogs Home I was asked to photograph Faith, a two year old female Bull Terrier – who is completely gorgeous! Faith has had a very hard start in life and truly deserves to find a loving family. I think she is an amazing little girl.

I know the Bull Terrier beauty is not for everyone, but really, how could anyone resist this gorgeous girl?

It’s rather cold at the moment so Faith was wearing this very sweet pink coat. She instantly reminded me of Piglet!

Faith is such a sweet girl and we stopped for lots of strokes and snuggling during our walk.

She walked VERY nicely on a flat collar and lead, a real pleasure to walk.

The weather was a tad miserable and I got the feeling that Faith would have preferred that we had snuggled up on a cosy sofa somewhere!:lol:

Isn’t she just utterly adorable?!

Faith is looking for a home without young children and where she is the only dog, although she does walk out well with other dogs (and she didn’t react badly to any of the dogs we encountered from a distance on our walk).

She would suit an active home with experienced owners and is fine to be left for short periods.

Although she has been known to be protective over her owners, she is very friendly and affectionate when meeting new people – indeed she had given me gentle chin kisses within a few minutes of meeting her (I had crouched down to say hello, she didn’t jump up).

Faith has the most wonderful ears …

And a cute little tail … and she might even be allowed to take her Piglet coat to a new home, if you ask nicely!

Faith hopes a very special home all of her very own is out there somewhere …

It’s tough, putting them back into their kennel and walking away:cry:

I just hope these photos will help her to find the special home that she very much deserves.

She really is such a beautiful and loving girl. Another one I would have loved to have brought home!

Good luck Faith, I’m convinced there’s a wonderful family just around the corner for you.

If you are seriously interested in offering Faith a wonderful home, you will need to contact Bath Cats & Dogs Home. You can find the necessary information on her page on the rescue’s website, by clicking here. Please mention that you saw Faith on PoochieFreak.com:)

I also made a very short video clip of Faith in all her gorgeousness …

ADOPTED ~ Flash ~ Awww Awww

Update: Flash and his friend Tiny were adopted together:)

Well … this was going to be a look at this wonderful dog who is looking for a home blog, but in between me photographing him and getting the photos sorted and the blog live, Flash has been reserved! And better news yet, whoever has reserved him also wants to adopt the dog you can see in one of the photos with him, and take the pair of them home! How wonderful is that:)

I am still going to tell you about Flash though, because he is gorgeous, so I thought you might still like to see his photos; he’s another example of the lovely dogs you can find in rescue; and because you can then smile with me about him getting a reserve! Good luck Flash and Tiny!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week, I got to meet, walk and photograph the lovely Flash, a six year old Staffie (Staffordshire Bull Terrier), who is being rehomed by Bath Cats and Dogs Home.
Flash is a very sweet and friendly boy who would make a great family dog. He loves cuddles and meeting people and is good with children of all ages. He is also good with most dogs and should be fine to be left for a few hours during the day, in a new home:)
Flash is pretty easy going, but still young at heart. I think he’d be very much up for fun and adventure with a new family – probably followed by snuggles on the sofa:)
He is a lovely little thing – and doesn’t he have amazing ears?
And he is VERY handsome:wink:
Flash was very pleased to be going out and walked nicely. He was happy to walk a little ahead of me, but he certainly wasn’t pulling constantly.
I think he would make a loving and loyal best friend for his new family.
While we were out, we encountered a group of 5-6 dogs running loose and then a family outing/picnic and he wasn’t fazed, just seemed quite keen to make new friends (especially with the picnic people :wink:)
As mentioned already, Flash is good with most other dogs and has made a friend in Tiny, the Greyhound (also looking for a home). Their carer tells me that they enjoy spending time together in the run. Aren’t they both gorgeous?
Flash is hoping his forever family is out there, somewhere ~ might that be you, or someone you know?
He really is a sweet boy who deserves to be in a loving home – I so hope he finds it very soon. Good luck Flash, it was lovely to meet you!
Here’s a little video clip to introduce the lovely boy:
and an out-take that made me chuckle!
If you are looking to adopt a dog from rescue, please take a look at all the gorgeous dogs at Bath Cats & Dogs Home. There are lots of dogs shown on the website, but also new dogs arriving all the time, so if you are local and serious about bringing a rescue dog into your lives, do pop up to the home for a visit.
The home will rehome out of area too, but if you are traveling some distance, you might prefer to phone them first to check the dog you are interested in, is still available.
Merry Christmas from Poochie Freak Photography!
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! For those of you who remember Jasper, our emergency foster on New Year’s Eve, this is his first Christmas with us. We are so happy to be spending this Christmas with him and after a recent health scare, he’s doing well and is having a lovely day.
May many more rescue dogs find their forever homes this Winter.
A Winter Plea …
As you will know, if you have read my blog before, I visit my local rescue centre when I can, to photograph and blog about some of the wonderful dogs who are looking for forever homes of their own. There are SO many beautiful dogs (and cats and smaller animals) there, just waiting for THEIR chance, their family, their new life.
The staff and volunteers at the rescue are wonderful. The facilities are wonderful. The dogs are walked, fed, receive the veterinary attention they need, have toys – and the resident behaviourist is even planning an enrichment area for the longer stay dogs. These animals have everything they need, right where they are.
What they all want, however, is a home of their own. Take some time to walk around the kennels and you will see row upon row of gorgeous dogs (and cats and smaller animals), waiting. Walk past their kennel or run and they will look at you, with expectation and hope.
Hope that YOU are the person who has come to fall in love with THEM today. To take them home, to give them the family they want and deserve. They want to be the first face to greet you in the morning, the reason you get out in the fresh air, the one you snuggle with on the sofa in the evening, the reason you pick hair out of your tea/butter/favourite meal.
Dogs like Shadow are waiting for their new family, their forever home, in rescues across the country (and indeed world), right now.
Rescue centres are rammed FULL of dogs and other animals. The pounds are full of dogs who will do their seven days and, if they are not claimed by loving owners, will either be fortunate enough to find a rescue space or find themselves being put down. Many more dogs are on waiting lists to go into rescue when a space becomes available. It’s an intolerable and heartbreaking situation and it needs to change – and you can be that change for YOUR next dog (or cat, or smaller animal).
Please, if you are thinking of getting a dog and can provide a loving and responsible home, visit Oldies Club, look at Bath Cats and Dogs Home, visit your local rescue centre, contact a breed rescue, or look at one of the online rescue resources.
Adopt a dog from rescue ~ they truly will love you for it.
Your next dog
Think about it. Please?
