Cranford – BBC drama, filming Christmas special

Yesterday a friend of mine, a blacksmith, was being filmed for the BBC’s Christmas production of Cranford, a period drama. We went to visit the set and I was able to take some photos, so thought I would share some here …

Here he is, all dressed/made up:

What an exciting afternoon!

My birthday!

Today was my birthday – we went for a walk, a rather wet walk as it turned out, so not too many photos, but I did manage to take this photo of this lovely young bird, while they kindly sat and posed for me for a short while:-)

Woof!

Earlier I received an email advising that my photo greetings cards had been blogged about on Folksy Finds. Very exciting:-)

This card of mine was chosen for the feature:

When all around you are losing theirs …

We seemed to lose a head on the morning walk today …

and also gained a slightly crazy looking one:-)

Fortunately the head re-appeared after a good roll in the grass. Unfortunately the head was covered in the delights of fox pooh.

Time to head for home … and a shower;-)

Summertime …

Our morning walk started off with meeting this little one who was enjoying the shade until we stumbled along.

The dogs enjoyed a little run around while it was still cool enough to do so:

Mr Collie caught the scent of something …

and did some posing in the long grass:-)

On the way back, we met a sheep and her little ones, who seemed to have broken free of their field and were out for a wander. We gently guided them, from a distance, back towards their rightful place and away from the road. Very sweet sight, mum followed by her three babies.

After all the excitement, it was time to head for home and a cup of tea:-)
